about our friendly bunch
We have one thing in common — we love to get crafty. Whatever your skill level, whatever your craft, there's a seat at the table (and a cuppa) waiting for you.
Waterside Craft Club started as a single Thursday afternoon at Hythe Sea Scouts, bringing together people who already love a craft and people who've always fancied giving one a go. It's grown from there.
Today we're a small community craft organisation running three weekly clubs — our original mixed-craft club on Thursdays, Waterside Art Club on Tuesdays, and Sewing Butterfly on Wednesdays. Each has its own flavour, but they all share the same warm welcome, a cuppa, and good company.
We keep things simple and affordable: pay as you go, no membership, and no pressure. We're proud to be supported by The National Lottery Community Fund and Culture in Common, which help us keep our clubs open to everyone.
Our three clubs
- Tuesday Waterside Art Club — Painting and drawing in good company (currently full).
- Wednesday Sewing Butterfly — A friendly sewing club.
- Thursday Thursday Craft Club — The original — a bit of everything.
